About This Rug
A subtle 3D effect using a combination of pile heights to define Commune’s signature plaid pattern. A mini checker kilim stripe runs down the centre of the rug.
Founded by Roman Alonso and Steven Johanknecht, Commune is a Los Angeles-based collective of architects, interior designers, graphic designers, artists, artisans, craftsmen, and builders with a global portfolio of projects in residential, commercial and hospitality sectors. Highly collaborative in its approach, Commune’s activities run the design spectrum from architecture to brand management, via graphic and product design – characterised by conscientious material selection and an appreciation of original architecture.
