Georgina von Etzdorf

Biography

Born in Peru to English-Prussian parents and raised in South America, Georgina von Etzdorf brings a distinct multicultural perspective to her textile designs. Trained at Camberwell College of Art, Von Etzdorf founded her eponymous fashion label with Jonathan Docherty and Martin Simcock in 1981 and swiftly won celebrity attention for her colourful scarves, ties, mens and womenswear, and for her brand's willingness to experiment with materials such as velvet, chiffon and cashmere. She has been collaborating on rug designs with Christopher Farr since 1998.
