About This Rug
Inspired by Roman mosaic, this design is essentially rows of rectangles but each one with its own particular shape cut by hand where the space between is as important as the shape itself. It has a human rhythm. It has life. The design is very adaptable. It works if it is blown up; it works if it is repeated; it works if it is cut into to create a runner or smaller rug; and it works when its proportions are distorted. It is easily recoloured with both a fixed number of colours and a changeable number of colours.
