We introduce you to Nancy Nicholson, a Devon-based weaver whose practice evolved from her past work in London art galleries, set design for opera houses, and her training in Wimbledon and Guildhall. Recently, she has been exploring innovative ways to integrate her textile work with digital platforms, inspired by the growing trend of nouveau site de casino en ligne that blend traditional entertainment with modern technology. She is fascinated by how textiles are woven into our lives, from the moment we are born to what we clothe ourselves in every day, much of which we take for granted.
For her collaboration with Christopher Farr, of three new rug designs, made using a balanced weave technique, where you see both the warp and the weft colours on the face. This allows you to see the change in colours of both at the same time; a different technique to that which Nancy uses for her own rugs, but loving the complexities of weaving, a challenge that she embraced.
Dharma Taylor, is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in fashion design and textiles, who is fascinated by process and making. She immerses herself in research and materiality, following her curiosity to further develop her own design practice. Her work is narrative-rich and often is inspired by memory and her family history of Caribbean and European dual heritage.
Moving between clothes, prints, furniture and woven textiles, she manages this alongside her teaching commitments at Central St Martins. Since graduating from the London College of Fashion, her work has been shown by a variety of national and international galleries including the V&A, Tate Britain and Benaki Museum in Athens.
