Designer

Born in Istanbul, Rifat Ozbek enjoyed a 30-year career as a fashion designer before he made the move into interior design. The Saint Martins graduate worked in Italy as a clothing designer for Monsoon before launching his own label in London in 1984, twice earning the title of ‘Designer of the Year’ from the British Fashion Council for his exotic, ethnically influenced style. In 2005, he shifted his love of colour and pattern into cushions and other interior products via his brand YASTIK, as well as high-profile interior-design projects round the world.
