Tony Bevan

Biography

Bradford-born painter Tony Bevan is known for his graphic style – distressed lines and uneasy geometries – limited earth-toned palette and psychologically charged imagery. Following his education at Bradford School of Art, Goldsmiths and the Slade, Bevan came to the forefront of the contemporary art scene in the politically volatile 1980s, which his work seemed to capture in its expressive starkness. His paintings – and latterly, monoprints – have been exhibited, consistently and internationally, ever since.
